Rush-Hour Collision on Aldridge Road
A woman was taken to hospital following a serious crash involving two vehicles on a busy Walsall road during the Friday morning rush hour.
The incident occurred on Aldridge Road in Walsall at approximately 8.43am on Friday, November 21, causing significant disruption to the morning commute.
Emergency Response and Hospitalisation
Emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene. A spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that an ambulance was sent to deal with the road traffic collision.
"On arrival, crews found a woman who they assessed for injuries believed not to be serious before she was conveyed to Walsall Manor Hospital for further treatment," the spokesperson said.
The woman's injuries are not currently believed to be life-threatening.
Travel Disruption and Bus Diversions
The crash had an immediate impact on local transport services. Buses were diverted away from the scene to allow emergency crews to work safely and manage the incident.
National Express West Midlands alerted passengers to the disruption via a social media post on X at 9.14am.
The company stated: "Service Disruption. Incident on Aldridge Road, Walsall services 6 and 7 will be diverting in both directions via: Bosty Lane, Daw End Lane and Lichfield Road. Apologies for any disruption to your journey."
It was not immediately confirmed when the bus services would return to their normal routes.
