NSA Wales Annual Meeting Provides Vital Forum for Sheep Producers
Sheep farmers and producers across Wales will have a valuable opportunity to refresh their knowledge, reconnect with industry peers, and engage with policymakers at the upcoming National Sheep Association (NSA) Wales/Cymru Regional annual meeting. This significant gathering for the agricultural community is scheduled to take place on Friday, February 9th at the prestigious Royal Welsh Showground's International Pavilion in Llanelwedd, Builth Wells.
Engaging with Policy and Industry Leaders
The meeting agenda offers attendees the chance to directly question and raise important issues with Llyr Gruffydd MS, who serves as the Shadow Minister for Rural Affairs in the Welsh Parliament. This political engagement session provides a crucial platform for farmers to voice concerns and influence rural policy discussions. Furthermore, participants will benefit from essential industry updates delivered by expert speakers, ensuring they remain informed about the latest developments affecting sheep farming in Wales.
Expert Speakers and Organisational Insights
The event will feature presentations from several key figures within the agricultural sector. Nicola Noble, who serves as NSA Project Officer and edits the NSA Sheep Farmer magazine, will share her extensive expertise. With her background as an active sheep farmer managing a 100-ewe flock alongside her family, combined with her strong research and development experience, Noble brings practical and technical knowledge to her role in managing NSA projects.
Additionally, Gareth Jones from British Wool will provide valuable insights from the wool sector. Helen Roberts, NSA Cymru Development Officer, expressed her enthusiasm for welcoming both long-standing NSA members and newcomers to this important industry event.
Meeting Structure and Practical Details
The day's proceedings will commence at 11:00 AM with the Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will include important organisational business such as the election of a new Chair and Vice Chair for the regional committee. Following the formal business and speaker sessions, attendees have the option to stay for lunch, providing further networking opportunities.
Helen Roberts emphasised the meeting's value, stating: "The meeting is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the work of NSA, the projects we are currently involved in, and the impact we aim to make across the sector. We are also pleased to host two engaging speakers, Llyr Gruffydd and Gareth Jones, who will be sharing their insights during the session."
