Nationwide Building Society, the UK's largest mutual lender, has confirmed the return of its £100 Fairer Share payment scheme for 2026, urging customers to complete a task before 5pm on Monday.
Payment Details and Timeline
Payments will be issued between Tuesday, June 10, and the end of the month. Customers who believe they qualify are advised to monitor their accounts from next week. The £100 payment is being offered for the fourth consecutive year, with over 4 million members expected to receive it.
Opt-Out Process
Members who do not wish to receive the payment can decline by contacting Nationwide no later than June 8, 2026. This can be done by calling 0330 1239 734 (Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm; Saturday, 9am-2pm) or by visiting a branch. Once the opt-out is chosen, it cannot be reversed. Those who opted out in previous years must notify Nationwide again if they wish to decline the 2026 payment.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, members must have held a qualifying current account with Nationwide on March 31, 2026, along with either qualifying savings (at least £100 in a personal savings account or cash ISA at any point in March 2026) or a qualifying mortgage. Current accounts from Clydesdale or Virgin Money do not count. The payment will be deposited into an open Nationwide current account.
