Birmingham City have finalised the permanent signing of Colombian midfielder Jhon Solis from La Liga side Girona. The 21-year-old returns to St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park after a successful loan spell in the second half of last season.
Solis made a significant impact in the Championship, featuring in 18 matches across all competitions. He scored his first goal for the club during a 2-1 victory over Bristol City in April. His performances convinced Blues manager Chris Davies to prioritise a permanent deal.
The club exercised their option to buy Solis last week, with the transfer fee believed to be around £6 million. He has agreed to a four-year contract and will officially become a Birmingham City player from July 1.
Blues boss Chris Davies expressed his desire to retain Solis towards the end of the previous campaign, and the deal has now been confirmed as the club's first summer signing.
