The town of Bridgend is preparing to honour its fallen heroes with two moving remembrance ceremonies this November, bringing the community together in solemn tribute.
Armistice Day Commemoration
On Friday, November 10th, the community will gather for a heartfelt Armistice Day service at the war memorial located outside Bridgend's Civic Offices. The poignant ceremony will commence at 10:45 AM, building toward the traditional two-minute silence at 11:00 AM - marking the exact moment the Armistice was signed, ending the First World War.
Remembrance Sunday Service
The following Sunday, November 12th, will see a more extensive Remembrance Sunday service unfold. Beginning at 10:30 AM at the same war memorial, this ceremony will feature wreath-laying ceremonies, prayers, and readings honouring those who sacrificed their lives in conflicts throughout history.
Community Participation Encouraged
Organisers are warmly inviting all members of the public to join both services. These events provide an important opportunity for residents to come together as a community, reflect on the sacrifices made by service personnel, and ensure that the legacy of those who gave their lives for our freedom is never forgotten.
The ceremonies promise to be deeply moving occasions, filled with dignity and respect, as Bridgend pays its collective respects to the brave men and women who served their country.
