Woodlands Animal Sanctuary in Holmeswood, Ormskirk, is urgently seeking a forever home for Betsy and Penny, a mother-daughter pair of cats who have been in their care for 277 days. The bonded duo arrived in August last year after their beloved owner sadly passed away, leaving them without a home through no fault of their own.
Since then, the timid pair have found comfort in each other and the dedicated care of the sanctuary team. However, shelter life is no substitute for a loving home, and the staff are now appealing for a special family who can offer them unconditional love and a consistent, safe environment where they can flourish.
Timid but Affectionate
Both cats are friendly but shy. Penny enjoys head scratches from trusted cat cuddlers, while her mother Betsy is more hesitant but craves contact and connection. She needs an understanding owner who can give her time to build confidence and not take offense if she gets nervous. The sanctuary's patient volunteers have helped Betsy open up, and she now seeks out their company.
Penny's Dietary Needs
Penny has a history of digestive upset, but the team has worked with a vet to find a suitable diet that has kept her well for several months. She must remain on this specific food. The sanctuary offers support for any future digestive issues, covering vet costs for this condition, while other expenses will be the adopter's responsibility.
The sanctuary is asking local residents to consider adopting Betsy and Penny or to share their story with friends and colleagues to help find them the loving home they deserve. Appointments to meet the pair can be booked via the Woodlands Animal Sanctuary website.
