Upon being spotted by police, the driver of the Mercedes attempted to flee the scene. The vehicle subsequently crashed into parked cars before the driver abandoned it and ran away.

A swift search of the nearby area was conducted with the assistance of the force's firearms unit. A man was quickly located and arrested by armed officers close to the crash site on Tuesday, December 2.
