Birmingham Man Faces Multiple Charges After E-Scooter Police Intervention
A 34-year-old man from Birmingham has been formally charged with a series of drug dealing and motoring offences following a targeted stop by police officers. The incident occurred when Staffordshire Police's major and organised crime proactive team intercepted an e-scooter rider in the Chase Terrace area on Thursday, April 16.
Police Operation Leads to Arrest and Searches
During the operation, officers conducted a search of the individual and subsequently executed a search at an address in Brownhills, Walsall, on the same day. This coordinated action resulted in the discovery of controlled substances and other evidence.
The accused, identified as Michael Marvin Davis, aged 34 and residing in Birmingham, now faces serious charges. These include possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply, possession of heroin with intent to supply, and possession of cannabis.
Additional Charges and Legal Proceedings
In addition to the drug-related allegations, Davis has been charged with possessing criminal property and using a motor vehicle on a road or public place without third-party insurance. A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police confirmed the details, stating that the charges stem from the findings during the searches in both Chase Terrace and Brownhills.
The police statement elaborated: "Michael Marvin Davis has been charged with possession with intent to supply controlled drugs of class A, specifically crack cocaine and heroin, along with possessing a controlled drug of class B, cannabis, possessing criminal property, and insurance offences."
Davis was scheduled to make his initial court appearance at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Friday, April 17, for the first hearing related to these charges. This case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat drug-related activities in the region, utilizing proactive measures to address organised crime.
