West Midlands Police have arrested a man in Birmingham on suspicion of drug and weapon offences following a targeted operation in the city centre. The arrest took place on Thursday, 6 March, as part of ongoing efforts to tackle serious and organised crime in the region.
Details of the Arrest
Officers from the force's Serious Organised Crime Unit stopped a vehicle on Great Charles Street Queensway at around 11:30 am. A 30-year-old man was detained and subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of an offensive weapon. He remains in police custody for questioning.
Seized Items
During the operation, police recovered a quantity of suspected heroin and crack cocaine, as well as a knife. The items have been sent for forensic analysis. The seizure is a significant blow to local drug supply networks, according to officers.
