A body has been recovered from the River Avon in Worcestershire during a police search for a missing man. The discovery was made in Pershore this afternoon, Thursday, 8 January 2026.
Police Search Launched After Belongings Found
West Mercia Police had launched a search after personal items were discovered near the Pershore Leisure Centre on Sunday, 4 January. Following initial enquiries, officers identified the owner of the belongings and established that he was believed to have entered the water.

"Sadly, a body has been recovered during the search for a man who was believed to have gone into the river in Pershore earlier this week," they stated.
