A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis after police uncovered a substantial cannabis farm inside a residential property in Dudley. The discovery was made during a police operation on Dudley Road in the Sedgley area, following an initial response to an unrelated incident.

Police Raid Uncovers Illegal Cultivation

Officers from West Midlands Police conducted the raid on the evening of January 27, where they found multiple cannabis plants being grown inside one of the bedrooms of the house. In addition to the Class-B drug, police seized an estimated £2,000 in cash and other unspecified drugs during the operation.

Suspect Remains in Custody

The arrested man, whose identity has not been disclosed, spent the night in police custody and remains detained while investigations continue. A spokesperson for West Midlands Police confirmed the details of the operation, stating that officers had been attending the address for a separate matter when they made the unexpected discovery.
