Police Launch Investigation After Aggravated Burglary in Great Wyrley
Staffordshire Police have issued a public appeal for information following a concerning incident in Great Wyrley, where a car was reportedly driven at a man after an aggravated burglary. The force is actively investigating the events that unfolded on Tuesday, March 10, and has released images of two men they wish to speak with in connection with the case.
Details of the Incident
According to police reports, officers were called to a property off Gorsey Lane at approximately 11am yesterday after receiving reports of suspicious activity. The incident involved two white men dressed in dark clothing, who were seen travelling in a black BMW from the direction of Alpha Way.
The suspects reversed the vehicle onto a driveway, where they placed items into the boot of the car. As they began to drive away, they accelerated at speed towards a man who was fortunately able to move out of the way to avoid being struck.
During their escape, the vehicle damaged a gate as it left the area heading towards Long Lane. The driver was described as wearing all-black waterproof-type clothing, and following initial inquiries, police believe the BMW may have been using cloned plates.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police stated: "We are appealing for information after an aggravated burglary in Great Wyrley. We were called shortly before 11am yesterday to a property off Gorsey Lane following reports of suspicious activity."
The spokesperson continued: "The suspects drove at speed at a man, who managed to get out of the way, as the car damaged a gate and left the area in the direction of Long Lane."
Officers have reviewed CCTV footage from the scene and are now seeking the public's assistance. They are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have relevant CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage.
