Bus Driver Subjected to Violent Abuse in Great Bridge
West Midlands Police have launched a public appeal following a distressing incident where a bus driver was threatened, verbally abused and spat at in Sandwell. The alarming confrontation took place near Market Place in Great Bridge and left the driver shaken, though fortunately not physically injured.
Details of the Shocking Incident
The attack occurred at around 10:15am on Friday, 13 September. According to police reports, a man first threw a glass bottle towards the driver's protective cabin screen. The situation then escalated dramatically when the individual proceeded to threaten the driver, subject him to a torrent of abuse, and spit in his direction.
Police Appeal for Information
Sandwell Police have now released a CCTV image of a man they urgently wish to speak to in connection with the assault. Authorities are asking anyone who recognises the individual to come forward immediately. A spokesperson for Sandwell Police stated: "We want to speak to this man after a bus driver was threatened and abused in Sandwell. The driver was spat towards and a glass bottle was also thrown towards the cabin screen."
