CCTV Shows Last Movements of Missing Norwich Woman, 79

Police in Norfolk have issued an urgent public appeal, releasing new CCTV images in their search for a 79-year-old woman who vanished from her Norwich home.

Doorbell Camera Captures Last Known Sighting

The critical footage, captured on a residential doorbell camera, shows some of the last known movements of Jill Grint before her disappearance. The images have provided investigators with vital new details about her clothing and direction.

In the video, Jill is seen walking along a street in Norwich. She is using a walking stick and is dressed in a blue coat, navy trousers, and navy trainers. She appears to be carrying a distinctive yellow bag. Officers noted this attire differs from the clothing initially reported when she was first reported missing.

Extensive Search Operation Underway

Jill was reported missing on Friday afternoon (5 December). She was last seen near her home address on Sarah William Close in Earlham, Norwich, at around 10.30am that same day.

Since her disappearance was reported, Norfolk Police have launched a significant search operation. Resources deployed include:

  • Police search teams
  • Dog units
  • Drone team
  • The police helicopter

An update from the force stated that officers remain deeply concerned for her welfare and are pursuing all lines of enquiry to locate her.

Public Urged to Assist Investigation

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward immediately. A police spokesperson said: "Officers remain concerned for her welfare and anyone who has seen Jill or knows of her whereabouts should contact Norfolk Police."

The public should call 101 and quote the reference number: 253 of 5 December. Jill is described as having shoulder-length grey hair.

The release of the CCTV footage is a key part of the investigation, as detectives hope someone may recognise Jill from the images or recall seeing her on Friday morning.
