Delivery Driver Sentenced to Six Months for Exposure Offences
A food delivery driver has been imprisoned for six months after being found guilty of exposing himself to members of the public while carrying out his work duties across several Berkshire locations.
Incidents Across Multiple Towns
Sethupathi Perisamy, aged 47, committed the offences while attending addresses in Maidenhead, Slough and Windsor between March 8 and May 11 last year. The delivery driver used his position to flash unsuspecting members of the public during what should have been routine food drop-offs.
Police Investigation and Arrest
Thames Valley Police conducted a thorough investigation into the incidents, leading to Perisamy's arrest on May 16. He was charged with the offences the following day and subsequently found guilty of five counts of exposure.
A police spokesperson stated: "Between March 8 and May 11 last year, Perisamy was a food delivery driver. As part of his job, he attended a number of addresses in Maidenhead, Slough and Windsor, during which he exposed himself to members of the public."
Court Sentencing and Prevention Order
At Reading Crown Court on January 28, Perisamy, of Clifton Road in Slough, received a six-month prison sentence. In addition to the jail term, the court imposed a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order against him.
Detective Constable Ashley Jones, the investigating officer, commented: "Thames Valley Police's CID team in Berkshire East conducted a thorough investigation to bring Sethupathi Perisamy to justice. I am pleased Perisamy has been convicted and jailed for these sexual offences, which have a significant impact on victims."
Impact on Victims and Community
The case highlights how such offences can affect victims and undermine public trust in service providers. The police emphasised the importance of their investigation in bringing the perpetrator to justice and preventing further incidents through the substantial prevention order.
