This is the dramatic moment a fire broke out at a second-floor flat in Wolverhampton, with flames engulfing the property and spreading to the hallway of a three-storey building.

Firefighters were called to Deans Road at around 10pm on Tuesday, April 28. Crews from West Midlands Fire Service arrived to find a blaze in a second-floor flat within a three-storey residential building.

Three fire engines and a brigade response vehicle initially attended, along with an aerial hydraulic platform. Six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using hose reels, which had already spread and caused damage to the hallway.

Several residents were given precautionary checks by paramedics, but no one was seriously hurt. A West Midlands Fire Service spokesperson said: "Just after 10pm on Tuesday, April 28, we responded to an incident on Deans Road, Wolverhampton. Crews arrived to find a fire in a second-floor flat within a three-storey residential building."

"A total of six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using hose reels, which had spread and caused damage to the hallway of the building. Several residents were given precautionary checks by paramedics, but no one was seriously hurt."

The spokesperson added: "We arranged revisits over the following day to monitor hotspots. Our last crew left the scene just before 8pm on Wednesday, April 29."
