Two men have been arrested on suspicion of drug dealing offences after police officers stopped a suspicious vehicle in Birmingham city centre. The incident occurred on Sherlock Street in the Southside district, where vigilant officers from the West Midlands Police's Operation Fearless team identified the car during a routine patrol on Tuesday evening, January 20.
Substantial Seizure of Suspected Drugs and Cash
Following the vehicle stop, officers conducted a thorough search of the car and its occupants. During this search, they discovered a significant quantity of what is believed to be Class A drugs, alongside approximately £1,000 in cash. The driver and passenger, aged 31 and 36 respectively, were promptly detained at the scene.
Both individuals were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. They remained in police custody the following morning as investigations continued. A police spokesperson confirmed the details, stating that the Operation Fearless team was actively targeting drug crime in the Southside area when they intercepted the suspicious vehicle.
