Midlands households have been issued a warning over counterfeit £20 banknotes following two recent fraud incidents. Staffordshire Police reported that a man purchased Apple MacBooks from different sellers using fake notes.

Details of the Incidents

The two incidents occurred in the areas of Cotes Heath and Derrington, near Stafford. In both cases, the suspect arranged to buy the products at the sellers' home addresses and paid with counterfeit £20 notes. He arrived and left the scene in a car on each occasion.

Police Alert

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: "Fraud alert – counterfeit £20 notes used. We are advising residents of two recent fraud incidents in the area of Cotes Heath and Derrington. On both occasions, a male arranged to purchase an Apple MacBook from sellers at their home address. Payment was made using counterfeit £20 notes. The suspect arrived and left by car in both cases."
