Police officers have taken action against two motorists for parking in a way that blocked a public footpath in the West Midlands.
Vehicles Ticketed in Dale Street
Officers from the Bilston and East Park neighbourhood policing team spotted the two vehicles obstructing the pavement on Dale Street in Bilston. The drivers were deemed to have parked inconsiderately, causing an obstruction for pedestrians.
The vehicles involved were identified as a Fiat Doblo van and a Peugeot 207. Both were issued with parking tickets for the offence.
Police Crackdown on Footpath Obstructions
The incident is part of a wider effort by West Midlands Police to clamp down on pavement parking in the Bilston area. The force shared images of the ticketed vehicles on its social media account on the morning of Monday, December 1, 2025.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the police team stated: "Two inconsiderate drivers issued with parking tickets for obstructing the pavement in Bilston. Keep off the pavements."
Recent Enforcement Action
This is not an isolated case. In a separate but related incident, police recently removed two other vehicles that were both unroadworthy and obstructing a pavement. One of those vehicles had been declared off-road with a Statutory Off Road Notification (SORN), while the other was found to have no valid road tax.
The clear message from local officers is that parking on pavements is unacceptable and enforcement action will be taken. This aims to ensure footpaths remain clear and safe for all pedestrians, including those with pushchairs, mobility aids, or visual impairments.
