Four teenagers have been arrested following a robbery carried out by a group of masked children in broad daylight in Droitwich. The incident occurred on Burrish Street on Sunday, May 17, when the victim was approached by a gang of youths wearing balaclavas.
According to West Mercia Police, the youths blocked the victim's path and demanded he empty his pockets. They then stole his mobile phone and bank card before fleeing the scene. The victim was not physically injured but was left shaken by what police described as a frightening ordeal.
Four boys, aged 14, 15, 15, and 16, were arrested on suspicion of robbery on Tuesday, May 19. They remain in police custody while investigations continue.
Safer Neighbourhood Inspector for Droitwich, Lisa Hornberger, condemned the attack, stating: "This was a frightening ordeal for the victim who was targeted in broad daylight by a group intent on intimidation and theft. Incidents like this will not be tolerated in our community. We are committed to taking robust action against those responsible and continuing our work to keep Droitwich a safe place for everyone."
Police are urging anyone with information about the robbery to come forward and assist with their enquiries. The investigation is ongoing, and further arrests have not been ruled out.
