A Tamworth great-grandfather has tragically died weeks after being involved in a serious road collision near the town centre.
Details of the collision
Leonard Hobrow, aged 88, was driving a silver Ford Fiesta when it was involved in a crash with an orange Nissan Note. The incident occurred close to the roundabout at the junction of Bolebridge Street and Amington Road.
The collision took place at approximately 1:10 pm on Friday, November 28, 2025. Mr Hobrow, a local resident, sustained injuries and was taken to hospital. He sadly passed away there on December 20, 2025, three weeks after the crash.
Family tribute and police investigation
In a heartfelt tribute, his grieving family remembered him as a devoted father, granddad, and great-granddad. They also highlighted his service in the RAF, stating he is "sadly missed."
Staffordshire Police have confirmed his next of kin are aware and are receiving support from specialist officers. The force has now launched a renewed appeal for information to help their investigation.
Appeal for witnesses and footage
Investigators are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw the vehicles involved in the moments leading up to it. They are also urging people to check for any relevant footage.
Officers are specifically requesting dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell video from the area around Bolebridge Street and Amington Road at the time of the incident.
