Emergency Response to Supermarket Car Park Incident

Emergency services were called to a supermarket car park on Soho Road in Handsworth at approximately 12.45pm on Monday, February 2nd. Upon arrival, paramedics and police officers discovered a man in cardiac arrest with serious injuries.

The 40-year-old victim was immediately transported to hospital for urgent medical treatment. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he sadly passed away on Wednesday afternoon, February 4th. Specialist detectives have informed his family and are providing them with support during this distressing time.

Police Investigation and Arrests

Detectives have established that the victim was involved in a disorder that broke out in the Soho Road and Holyhead Road area prior to being found injured. As part of their ongoing investigation, police have made two arrests in connection with the incident.

A 34-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday, February 3rd, on suspicion of attempted murder and has been released on bail pending further enquiries. A second 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been released under investigation while police continue their work.
