Appeal Launched After Disturbing Train Assault
British Transport Police have launched a public appeal for information following a sexual assault on a train travelling through the Midlands. The incident occurred on the Matlock to Nottingham service on the afternoon of Tuesday, 30 September.
Details of the Incident
A woman boarded the train at Duffield railway station in Derbyshire at approximately 4.45pm. As she walked through a carriage, she passed a group of three people. It was at this point that a man from the group sexually assaulted her. The man then made an inappropriate comment towards the victim before leaving the train at its final destination, Nottingham Railway Station.
Description of the Suspect and How to Help
In connection with their investigation, detectives have released a CCTV image of a man they urgently wish to identify and speak to. The force has described the individual as:
- White
- Bald on top with grey hair to the sides
- Wearing glasses
- Dressed in a two-tone grey, long-sleeved top with a light grey body and a dark-grey button-down collar
