A frightening knifepoint robbery has taken place at a petrol station in Tamworth, where a masked man brandished a weapon and demanded cash from a shop worker.
The incident occurred at the Jet garage on Lichfield Street in Fazeley on Tuesday, April 14, at approximately 9pm. The robber, who was wearing a mask, entered the shop and threatened an employee with a knife before fleeing with a quantity of cash.
Staffordshire Police confirmed that no one was injured during the robbery. Officers attended the scene and have increased patrols in the area as they investigate.
Police Appeal for Information
Authorities are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a slim build. He was dressed entirely in black, including a black mask, black gloves, and a hood pulled over his head.
A police spokesperson said: “We’re appealing for information as part of an ongoing investigation into a robbery at a petrol station in Tamworth. It happened at about 9pm on Tuesday 14 April. A man with a knife went into Jet on Lichfield Street, Fazeley, and demanded cash before leaving. No one was injured. A quantity of cash was taken. Officers attended the scene and are continuing to patrol the area.”
