Staffordshire Police have launched a public appeal for information following a brazen early-morning burglary at a primary school in Tamworth, where the suspect was captured on CCTV wearing a highly distinctive grey, white and red onesie.
Break-In at Oakhill Primary School
The incident occurred at Oakhill County Primary School, located on Hawksworth in the Glascote Heath area of Tamworth. Police were called at precisely 5.45am on Monday, January 26, after reports of a break-in at the educational establishment. The timing of the burglary, just hours before pupils and staff were due to arrive for the school day, has been described as particularly callous.
Stolen Electronic Equipment
The intruder targeted valuable electronic devices during the raid. The items reported stolen include:
- Two Apple iPads
- An iPad charger
- Two handheld radio devices
- A handheld radio charging base
Police have confirmed that the school is following all necessary data protection procedures in response to the theft of the equipment.
Distinctive Suspect Description
Authorities have issued a detailed description of the individual caught on the school's security cameras. The suspect was wearing:
- A distinctive grey, white and red onesie with red cuffs at the wrists and a red lining in the hood
- A white section across the shoulders and stomach areas of the garment
- A black face mask
- A black beanie hat
- Black gloves
The individual was also seen carrying a dark-coloured backpack and a white supermarket 'bag for life'.

Staffordshire Police are urging the local community to come forward with any information that could assist their investigation. A spokesperson stated: "We are appealing for information, relevant CCTV, dashcam and doorbell footage after a primary school was broken into in Tamworth recently."
