Two individuals have been imprisoned following a horrifying attack that lasted nearly two hours, during which boiling water was poured over the victim. Blu Wright, aged 30, and Tegan Hawley, aged 37, carried out a brutal assault that resulted in severe injuries, including fractures and burns.

Details of the Terrifying Ordeal

The incident occurred on June 3 last year at a property in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire. According to Nottinghamshire Police, the victim was socializing with Wright and Hawley when they suddenly turned on him. Motivated by financial gain, the pair launched a sustained attack, using various objects as weapons.

The assault involved:

  • Beating the victim with a pole, a speaker, and a vase.
  • Repeatedly punching him in the face.
  • Pouring boiling water over him while demanding money.

The victim sustained a fractured eye socket, multiple facial injuries, and burns to his arm, requiring hospitalization.

Court Proceedings and Sentencing

Wright and Hawley pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent. Additionally, Wright admitted to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray related to a separate attack on another man in Derbyshire in April 2022.

On Thursday, March 19, at Nottingham Crown Court, the pair received their sentences:

  • Blu Wright, of Comet Drive, Eastwood, was sentenced to eight years and nine months in prison.
  • Tegan Hawley, of Cromford Road, Langley Mill, Derbyshire, received a sentence of four and a half years.

Police Response and Community Impact

Detective Constable Adam Evans of Nottinghamshire Police commented on the case, stating, "Wright and Hawley subjected their victim to a terrifying ordeal that lasted nearly two hours. The duo worked in tandem to inflict a series of painful blows on the man, before pouring boiling water on him too."

He added, "Both of them should be disgusted by their disgraceful behaviour, which left a man in hospital with fractures and burns. We’re pleased to see Wright and Hawley have now been locked up for their actions, and we hope these sentences provide the victim with some closure."
