Family's Emotional Appeal for Missing Graduate Son in Birmingham

The anguished parents of a missing Birmingham graduate who disappeared suddenly nearly a year ago have issued a heartfelt new plea for public assistance to help locate their beloved son.

Khadim and Mahjabeen Durrani expressed their profound distress over the absence of their eldest child, data scientist Ali Durrani, who has missed numerous significant family milestones during his disappearance.

Last Known Sighting and Family's Anguish

The 32-year-old University of York economics graduate was last captured on CCTV footage at the junction of Middlemore Road and West Heath Road in Northfield on February 6, 2025.

His family last saw him the previous day when he bid farewell to his mother at their Stirchley family home at 12.40pm, mentioning he was heading out for a walk.

As the first anniversary of his disappearance approaches, Ali's parents returned to the location where he was last seen, making an emotional public appeal for information.

Parents' Heartfelt Words and Missed Milestones

Speaking at the Northfield location, mother Mahjabeen described the family's ongoing pain: "It's been almost a year now since we've seen Ali, since we have seen his beautiful face, heard his voice and seen his lovely smile."

"Ali was last seen on February 6, on the junction of Middlemore Road and West Heath Road. We don't know where he is and haven't heard from him. There's no social media activity, bank activity, nothing."

She continued: "Ali had an economics degree from the University of York. He had worked as a data scientist, was intelligent, kind and loving. We are yearning to see our son. We've missed him so much this past year."

"He's missed out on so many happy occasions, celebrations, graduations and most importantly, the birth of his nephew."

The family's plea extends to anyone who might have information: "If you have any information about Ali's whereabouts, we want to find our son. We want him home, we want to find him safe."

Father's Emotional Appeal and Police Description

Ali's father Khadim added his own emotional words: "Ali, we love you and miss you. It's very hard not to have you around. All your cousins, little brother and nephew all miss you. Please come home."

West Midlands Police have provided a detailed description of the missing man. Ali Durrani is of medium build with black hair and a black beard.

He was last seen wearing a khaki raincoat with black jeans and lace-up brown shoes. His phone, a light-coloured iPhone 12, has not been located and was believed to be in the area surrounding Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
