Police Warn Against Trespassing at Telford Hotel

Police have issued a strong warning to the public to avoid the Madeley Court Hotel in Telford, citing safety concerns and potential legal repercussions. The warning comes after reports that several individuals attempted to enter the premises, mistakenly believing it to be abandoned.

Warning Issued by Telford and Wrekin Police

In a statement, a spokesperson for Telford and Wrekin Police clarified that the hotel is not abandoned and warned against unauthorized entry. The spokesperson said: "We are aware of individuals attempting to enter Madeley Court Hotel under the assumption it is abandoned. This is not the case. Please be aware that entering without permission, forcing entry or causing damage may result in a criminal conviction. For your own safety and to avoid legal consequences do not attempt to gain access or enter the hotel. Anyone identified may be subject to enforcement action being taken against them."

Background on the Hotel

The Madeley Court Hotel, located on Castlefields Way, was temporarily used to house asylum seekers. However, this arrangement ended earlier this year. In April, Telford MP Shaun Davies confirmed that he had written to the hotel owners to discuss plans for returning the hotel to community use.

Authorities are urging the public to respect the property and avoid any actions that could lead to criminal charges. The hotel remains under private ownership, and any future use will be determined by the owners in consultation with local officials.
