Police are appealing to the public for help after a vulnerable, elderly woman had her purse stolen in a daylight theft in Dudley.

Details of the Distressing Theft

The incident occurred on Birmingham New Road at around 2.30pm on October 6. The victim, a woman in her 80s, had her purse taken directly from her handbag.

The stolen purse contained cash and a bank card. Investigators later discovered that the card was used fraudulently at a shop in Tipton shortly after the theft took place.

Police Appeal and Suspect Image

West Midlands Police have now released a CCTV image of a man they believe may have vital information about the crime. A force spokesperson stated: "We want to speak to this man after a woman in her 80s had her purse stolen in Dudley."

Authorities are urging anyone who recognises the individual in the image, or who has any information about the incident, to come forward.
