Police are hunting for a thief who stole a high-value car from a supermarket car park in the Black Country in a brazen broad daylight raid.

Shocking Theft Captured on Camera

The incident occurred at the Morrisons supermarket off the Black Country Route in Bilston, Wolverhampton. At around 4.05pm on Thursday, 8 January, a dark-coloured Range Rover SUV was targeted.

Shocked shoppers witnessed the theft unfold and several recorded video footage of the vehicle being driven away at speed, with one of its doors still wide open.

Brave Shopper Attempts to Intervene

In a moment of remarkable public-spiritedness, a woman attempted to stop the thief. She stepped in front of the moving Range Rover, waving her arms in an effort to attract attention and prevent the crime.

Despite her brave efforts, the thief managed to drive off with the luxury vehicle. The entire episode has left the local community alarmed at the audacity of the crime, which took place in a busy public area during the afternoon.

Police Enquiries Ongoing

West Midlands Police have confirmed they were called to the scene shortly after the theft was reported. Officers have spoken to witnesses and have secured CCTV footage from the area as part of their investigation.

A police spokesperson said: "Our enquiries are ongoing." No arrests have been made at this stage.
