Security Worker Sentenced for Sexual Assault on Teenager at Railway Station
A security guard has been handed a prison sentence after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl at a railway station in Worcestershire. The disturbing incident occurred while the perpetrator was on duty, exploiting his position of trust to target the vulnerable teenager.
Predatory Attack at Worcester Shrub Hill
The assault took place at Worcester Shrub Hill railway station on November 14, 2021. Aamar Mohammed, then working as a security guard, approached the teenage girl as she waited for her train. He initially engaged her in conversation, asking about her travel plans before escorting her to the appropriate platform.
Mohammed then invited the girl to wait in a station office, suggesting she would be warmer there. As she approached the office, he turned off the lights before forcing himself upon her and committing the sexual assault. The victim managed to escape the office and board her train, only for Mohammed to emerge and wave at her as the service departed the station.
Investigation and Court Proceedings
The traumatised teenager reported the attack to her family, who immediately contacted the police. British Transport Police detectives launched an investigation that same evening, resulting in Mohammed's arrest. The 35-year-old from Shireland Road, Smethwick, failed to appear for a subsequent court hearing and was rearrested at his home address in March 2023.
Following a week-long trial at Worcester Crown Court, Mohammed was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault. Medical evidence confirmed the victim suffered bruising from the forceful attack. On January 12, 2026, he was sentenced to three years and eight months imprisonment.
Additional Safeguarding Measures
In addition to his prison sentence, the court imposed significant safeguarding measures against Mohammed. He received an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will be placed on the sex offenders register for life. These measures are designed to protect the public from future harm and restrict his movements and activities upon release.
Police Response and Victim's Bravery
Detective Constable Tim Friend from British Transport Police praised the victim's courage throughout the investigation and court process. He stated: "Aamar Mohammed used his trusted position as a station security guard to groom a teenage girl and subject her to a deplorable sexual assault. His attack was so forceful that it left the victim with physical injuries, and will no doubt have a lasting impact on her psychologically."
The detective added: "It is down to her bravery in reporting him to police, and determination to stick with the process as it progressed through the courts, that we have been able to bring a truly vile man to justice. We will stop at nothing to ensure sexual predators like Mohammed are removed from our communities and put behind bars where they belong."
The case highlights the importance of reporting such incidents to authorities and the thorough investigative work conducted by British Transport Police in pursuing justice for victims of sexual offences within the railway network.
