Solihull Building Fire: Stay Away Warning Issued

Emergency services are currently at the scene of an active fire at a derelict building on Marshall Lake Road in Shirley, Solihull. The public has been warned to stay away from the area as firefighters work to bring the blaze under control.

Incident Details

The building, believed to be a former care home, caught fire at around 7:05 pm on Friday, June 5, 2026. West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS) received reports of the incident and dispatched four crews to the location. West Midlands Police are also present, diverting traffic to ensure public safety while firefighting operations are underway.

Official Warning

In a statement on X, WMFS urged the public to avoid the area: "We have four crews in attendance at Marshall Lake Road, Solihull, where they have responded to a derelict building fire. Please avoid the area, where possible." The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
