Solihull Man Among Three Charged in Major Firearms Conspiracy Case
A Solihull man and two others from Leicestershire have been charged with multiple firearms offences following a significant police operation that uncovered weapons and manufacturing equipment.

Ricky Plant, aged 42 and from Solihull, has been charged with conspiracy to manufacture, possess, and supply firearms. The charges stem from a joint investigation involving West Midlands Police, the National Crime Agency, and Leicestershire Police.
Officers from the NCA's Armed Operations Unit stopped a car in Loughborough, Leicestershire, on Wednesday afternoon, April 15, leading to the recovery of a weapon. Simultaneously, at an address in the Loughborough area, police seized a blank-firer believed to be readily convertible into a live-firing weapon, along with materials used in the production of weapons and ammunition.
As part of the same operation, a 3D printer was recovered from a property in Solihull, indicating potential involvement in firearm manufacturing.
Additional Defendants and Their Charges
Bailey Middleton, 25, from Stonebow Village in Leicestershire, faces charges including conspiracy to manufacture, possess, and supply firearms, possession of a readily converted firearm, possession of a firearm, and driving offences related to false plates, no licence, and no insurance.
Daniel Smith, 38, from Loughborough, has been charged with conspiracy to manufacture, possess, and supply firearms, as well as possession of a firearm and possession of prohibited ammunition.

All three men were scheduled to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court today for their first hearing. A West Midlands Police spokesperson confirmed the charges, stating, "We've charged three men with firearms offences as part of a joint operation alongside the National Crime Agency and supported by Leicestershire Police."
