Teen attacked on Malvern Hills, police hunt suspect

Police in Worcestershire have launched a public appeal for information after a teenage girl was violently assaulted at a popular Midlands beauty spot.

Details of the Malvern Hills Attack

The incident occurred on a footpath near the historic British Camp Iron Age hill fort on the Malvern Hills. According to West Mercia Police, the 16-year-old victim was walking her bicycle along the path at approximately 5pm on Wednesday, November 19.

A man walking in the opposite direction is alleged to have shouted abuse at the teenager before the confrontation escalated. The assailant then threw her bike to the ground and struck her in the face.

Police Description of the Suspect

Officers have released a detailed description of the man they wish to trace in connection with the assault. He is described as:

  • White
  • Aged approximately 65 years old
  • Wearing a green coat
  • Walking a brown dog at the time

No arrests have been made, and police inquiries are actively continuing. The investigating officer, PC Amy-Beth Fredericks, is urging anyone with information to come forward.

Appeal for Witnesses and Information

In a formal statement, West Mercia Police said: "We’re appealing for information and witnesses after a 16-year-old girl was assaulted on a footpath near British Camp in the Malvern Hills. We’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the assault, or may know who the man is."
