Teen Charged After Knife Incident in Solihull

A teenager has been charged following a police response to reports of a group of boys carrying knives in Solihull. Officers from West Midlands Police were dispatched to Pendigo Way after three youths were seen brandishing knives.

Charges Filed

A 15-year-old boy was subsequently charged with possession of a bladed article. Another 15-year-old had been charged earlier in the month. The incidents occurred on 24 March, prompting an investigation by the Solihull CID team, which included reviewing CCTV footage.

Police Statement

In an official statement, police said: "A teenage boy has been charged with possession of a knife after we received reports of a group of people with knives in Solihull. On 24 March we were called to reports of three youths being seen brandishing knives in Pendigo Way. An investigation was launched and our Solihull CID team carried out multiple enquiries including reviewing CCTV footage."

The arrested 15-year-old was taken into custody on 28 April, and a zombie knife was recovered. He has been charged with possession of a bladed article and is scheduled to appear before Birmingham Magistrates on 21 May. The other 15-year-old boy, charged earlier, will appear on 5 May.

Community Warning

Police emphasised that anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated. "Anyone coming into Solihull to commit crime, anti-social behaviour or cause disorder will be arrested," the statement added. The force urged the public to report any suspicious activity to help keep the community safe.
