Teenage Boys Hit by Car in Dudley Robbery

West Midlands Police have launched a major investigation following a shocking incident in Dudley that saw two teenage boys deliberately struck by a car before being robbed.

Violent Collision in Upper Gornal

The disturbing event unfolded on Pale Street in the Upper Gornal area of Dudley at approximately 2.30pm on Sunday, January 19. According to police reports, one victim was riding a Sur-Ron electric bike while his friend walked alongside him when a grey Volvo vehicle suddenly ploughed into them both.

The force of the impact was severe enough to knock both teenagers to the ground and actually split the electric bike in half during the sickening collision. Remarkably, despite the violent nature of the attack, neither young man sustained serious physical injuries.

Brazen Theft Following Assault

In what appears to have been a targeted robbery, the male driver immediately jumped out of the Volvo following the collision. Without showing any concern for the welfare of the injured boys, the suspect proceeded to steal the damaged electric bike before fleeing the scene entirely.

West Midlands Police have issued an urgent public appeal for information regarding this alarming daytime crime. Detectives are particularly keen to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who was in the Pale Street area around the time it occurred.

Police Description and Appeal

Investigators have released a description of the suspect, who is believed to be approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with a slim-to-medium build. The vehicle involved has been identified as a grey Volvo, though specific model details remain undisclosed at this stage of the inquiry.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police provided this official statement regarding the incident: "We're appealing for witnesses after a teenager was robbed of his electric bike and another assaulted when they were knocked to the floor by a car. The victim had been riding his electric Sur-Ron with his friend walking alongside him on Pale Street, Upper Gornal, on January 19, at around 2.30pm."

The statement continued: "A grey Volvo has then hit the victims, splitting the bike in half, before a man thought to be around 5ft 10 inch tall and of a slim-to-medium build got out and took the bike before fleeing. Thankfully, the boys were not seriously injured. We'd like to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened, or was in the area at the time."
