Three Individuals Face Robbery Charges After Birmingham Bus Assault
Three people have been formally charged with robbery in connection with a violent incident on a bus in Erdington, Birmingham, which left a man injured. The attack occurred on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, prompting a rapid response from local law enforcement.

According to West Midlands Police, a man was assaulted and had items taken from him while traveling on a bus in the Erdington area. Officers from Operation Fearless, who were on patrol at the time, were alerted to the situation and initiated immediate investigations.
Their enquiries led them to an address on Oxford Road, where they arrested three suspects: Crystal Brown, aged 34, James Webster, aged 44, and Lee Brown, aged 46. All three individuals, who are from Birmingham, have since been charged with robbery and were scheduled to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Saturday, April 4, 2026.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police stated, "Three people are due in court after a robbery on a bus in Erdington. Officers from Operation Fearless were on patrol when they were alerted to the incident. It was reported that a man had been assaulted and items were taken from him."

In a separate but related development, Operation Fearless officers made another arrest in Erdington. During a patrol near Erdington railway station, they detained and searched Kasharn Smith-Johnson, a 19-year-old from Walsall.
Police seized a lock knife and a machete during the search. Smith-Johnson has been charged with two counts of possession of a bladed article and is set to appear before magistrates on April 21, 2026.
