Three individuals from the Black Country have been formally charged in connection with a nationwide spree of cash machine raids that resulted in the theft of approximately £300,000.
Nationwide Crime Spree Uncovered
West Midlands Police initiated a major investigation in February 2025 following a string of nearly 30 incidents. The organised gang targeted locations across Staffordshire, Derbyshire, the West Mercia Police area, and Wales.
Officers confirmed the group attempted 27 separate raids, with 14 of those proving successful. In one notable incident on 25 June 2025, a cash box was stolen from a Santander branch located on Stourbridge High Street.
Charges and Court Appearance
Following an early morning operation on Thursday, 18 December 2025, five people were arrested. Subsequently, three were charged and are now set to face justice.
The charged individuals are:
- David Price, aged 43, of Blakenhall, Wolverhampton
- Adam Walker, aged 38, of Moseley, Wolverhampton
- Joanne McGregor, aged 40, of Wednesfield, Wolverhampton
All three have been charged with conspiracy to burgle, conspiracy to handle stolen goods, and possession of criminal property. They are scheduled to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court on 20 December 2025.
Ongoing Fight Against Organised Crime
Police stated that the gang used specialist equipment to break into buildings housing cash machines. The two other men arrested during the operation have been released on bail as enquiries continue.
This investigation forms a crucial part of Operation Target, the force's round-the-clock initiative to tackle serious and organised crime within the West Midlands region. The charges mark a significant breakthrough in a complex, cross-border probe.
