Tribute to 'Young at Heart' Dad Killed in Hanley Road Collision

This is the tragic first picture of a 'much loved' family man who died in a collision with a car. Barry Mumford was walking along Meigh Street, Hanley, when he was involved in a crash with a red Seat Leon on Saturday, March 28.

Family's Heartfelt Tribute

The 80-year-old, from Werrington, was named as the pedestrian killed as his family paid tribute to a 'young at heart' dad, granddad, and brother. He suffered serious head injuries and despite being taken to hospital, he died later the same day.

In a tribute to him, Barry’s family said he was a "much loved dad, grandad, and brother, taken from us far too soon". It added: "He was young at heart, active, independent, and always there for his family. We are devastated by his loss and ask that anyone who may have seen anything to please come forward."

Staffordshire Police said his family continue to be supported by specialist officers. The driver of the Seat continues to assist collision investigators with their enquiries.

The force urged anyone with information to contact them. They said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area with any information or dashcam footage which could help collision investigators."
