Tributes Paid to 'Kind and Caring' Man Found Fatally Injured at Wolverhampton School

Tributes have been paid to a man found fatally injured on the grounds of a school in Wolverhampton. Neil 'Chuck' Thompson was discovered on Monday morning, January 19, at Smestow Academy on Windmill Crescent in the Black Country.

His death is being treated as unexplained by police, who have launched an appeal for information about his whereabouts in the lead-up to his death. Officers are working to trace Mr Thompson's final movements and understand the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.

Police Appeal for Information on Final Sightings

West Midlands Police have released details of Mr Thompson's last known sightings. He was seen on Wheatsheaf Road at 1am on Monday before being sighted on the school grounds at 7.15am.

At the time, he was wearing a distinctive camouflage jacket, grey gilet, jeans, and a beanie hat. He was also carrying a red rucksack and may have been wearing sunglasses. Police are urging locals to check any CCTV cameras that might have captured his movements.

Supt Martin Hurcomb from Wolverhampton Police said: "Our teams are continuing to investigate the circumstances around this tragic incident and we are offering support to Mr Thompson's family. Enquiries are moving ahead as investigators work to piece together his movements and we'd ask again that anyone who may have seen Mr Thompson in the early hours of yesterday does get in touch."
