Wolverhampton Predator Receives 18-Year Sentence for Horrific Crimes Against Young Girls
A dangerous sexual predator from Wolverhampton has been removed from the streets after being sentenced to 18 years in prison for a series of appalling offences against young girls. Gurpreet Randhawa, aged 21, exploited vulnerable teenagers through social media, raping two 15-year-old victims and coercing a 12-year-old into sharing indecent images.
Systematic Grooming and Violent Attacks
Randhawa, who operated under the alias Ziggy and used multiple false identities, targeted his victims between July 2024 and September 2025. He initiated contact through social media platforms, engaging in sexualised conversations with young girls before persuading them to meet in person.
The court heard how he raped one 15-year-old girl on three separate occasions between August and September 2025. During the final attack, he drove her to a car park in Wolverhampton and assaulted her in the back of his vehicle. When she attempted to resist, he grabbed her by the throat to overpower her.
Exploitation of a 12-Year-Old Victim
In a particularly disturbing aspect of the case, Randhawa contacted a 12-year-old girl online, sending her inappropriate videos and photographs of himself. He threatened to harm her if she didn't reciprocate by sending similar material, even encouraging her to involve her friends in this exploitation.
Police investigations revealed he had shared live footage of himself having sex with another 15-year-old girl with the younger victim. During this encounter, he also smoked drugs with the teenager and filmed the assault without her knowledge or consent.
Bravery of Victims Leads to Conviction
West Midlands Police praised the extraordinary courage shown by the victims, whose testimony proved crucial in securing convictions. One 15-year-old girl reported the abuse to her school, which immediately alerted authorities and triggered a rapid police response.
Detective Constable Mark Tallis from the force's Public Protection Unit stated: "Randhawa targeted and exploited these young girls for his own sexual desires. He persuaded two of the girls to meet him and raped them. These were horrific experiences for the girls, as it was for the 12-year-old girl who was threatened if she did not reciprocate his appalling actions."
Guilty Plea and Sentencing
Randhawa pleaded guilty to multiple serious offences at Wolverhampton Crown Court, including:
- Four counts of rape
- Two offences of taking indecent images of a child
- Two further offences of sharing indecent images
- Engaging in sexual communication with a child
The 21-year-old, who resided on Wellington Street in Wolverhampton, received his 18-year sentence on Thursday, February 12, 2026. DC Tallis emphasized that the victims' bravery had "taken a dangerous man off the streets and prevented others from being targeted."
This case highlights the ongoing dangers of online grooming and the importance of young people feeling empowered to report abuse to trusted adults or authorities. West Midlands Police continue to investigate similar cases through their dedicated Public Protection Unit.
