A 40-year-old woman has been charged by police following a series of alleged thefts in Wolverhampton, including a parcel stolen from outside a home.
Charges Follow City-Wide Incidents
Emma Durrell, aged 40, was arrested at an address in the Park Dale area on the morning of Sunday, December 28. West Midlands Police stated she has been charged with three counts of theft, one count of attempted theft, and a further charge of failing to appear at court.
The charges relate to incidents spanning several areas of the city. Officers from the St Peter's, Park and Graiseley neighbourhood team made the arrest.
Details of the Alleged Crimes
The alleged offences took place between October 19 and December 27. According to police, one incident involved the theft of a parcel from outside a home near the West Park area. An attempted theft at the same location was also reported.
Separately, thefts are alleged to have occurred at a convenience store in Tettenhall and at a supermarket in Oxley during the same period.
Court Appearance Scheduled
Durrell was held in police custody overnight following her arrest. She was subsequently due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court on Monday, December 29 to face the charges.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police summarised the case: "A suspect has been arrested following two shop thefts in Wolverhampton and a parcel being taken from outside a home in the city."
