A Midland woman was callously mowed down in a hit-and-run crash after a theft at her business, with shocking video capturing the moment she was struck by a white van.
Incident Details
Rebecca Davies, 33, who runs a house clearance business, was trying to stop the vehicle and confront its occupants after items were stolen from her premises. The incident occurred in Oswestry, Shropshire, on Monday, April 27.
Footage shows Rebecca being knocked to the ground after getting out of her car with partner Dan Brown, who was also injured. Rebecca said: "How anyone can dismiss someone's life is beyond me."
Aftermath and Investigation
Rebecca explained she was chasing the van, which had foreign number plates, following the raid on her business. She said: "I wasn't seriously injured, just bruises and scratches on me. Dan had a black eye and had a headache but nothing major."
"We then caught up with them near another business which has also been targeted previously. But the men in the van didn't want to be caught so drove into both of us. I am a victim of a hit and run. I have an honest life, my meaning in life is my family and my business. Why did I deserve this?"
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "We received a report on Monday of a robbery at a business on Maesbury Road in Oswestry. An investigation is ongoing."
