A youth was arrested in Birmingham city centre after police recovered an achete measuring 18 inches during targeted patrols. The incident occurred on March 28, when officers from West Midlands Police noticed the young person acting suspiciously in the area.
Police Operation Leads to Arrest
According to authorities, the youth became visibly unnerved by the presence of law enforcement patrols in the city centre. A spokesperson for West Midlands Police stated that the individual attempted to evade officers but was intercepted by a second patrol team that had strategically positioned itself ahead.
The boy was subsequently detained and searched, leading to the discovery and seizure of the large machete. Police have released an image showing the handle of the weapon as it was taken from the scene.
