The Ahmadiyya Muslim community in Doncaster will usher in 2026 with a profound day dedicated to spiritual reflection, environmental care, and feeding those in need. Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Doncaster will continue their cherished tradition of starting the year with acts of compassion and public service.
A Day Rooted in Prayer and Reflection
The community's New Year's Day will commence in the early hours of January 1, 2026, with the Tahajjud prayer. This voluntary night prayer offers a time for personal supplication. It will be followed by the congregational Fajr (dawn) prayer at the Baitul Baseer Mosque, where worshippers will gather to express gratitude for the past year and seek blessings for the new one.
Practical Service: Cleaning Streets and Sharing Food
Demonstrating a practical commitment to their neighbours, volunteers will conduct a street-cleaning effort in the Edlington Lane area. This initiative highlights the community's focus on environmental responsibility and civic pride, aiming to leave public spaces cleaner for everyone.
The centrepiece of the public-facing activities is the "Meals with Love" campaign. The association will distribute free meal boxes to the general public on a first-come, first-served basis. The distribution will occur in the mosque's parking area between 12.30 pm and 1.30 pm.
Building Bridges Through Kindness
This initiative is designed to support anyone in need, foster friendships, and share kindness within the wider Doncaster community. All members of the public are warmly invited to attend, with volunteers ready to greet visitors in a friendly environment.
By intertwining spiritual devotion with tangible community support, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association aims to begin 2026 on a note of hope and peace. The day embodies their universal motto: "Love for All, Hatred for None". The community reaffirms its commitment to building bridges and supporting local residents, one good deed at a time.
Everyone is welcome to join, receive a meal, or simply share in the spirit of community. The mosque is located at Baitul Baseer Mosque, Edlington Lane, Edlington, DN12 1BS. For further information, you can contact the community via email at AMADoncaster@gmail.com.
