Four jailed as Warwickshire Police bust 'Rico' and 'Harry' county lines drugs ring
Four jailed after Warwickshire drugs lines busted

Four men have been jailed after Warwickshire Police dismantled two county lines drug operations that supplied cocaine and heroin in Warwick and Leamington Spa. The 'Rico' and 'Harry' lines were active from at least March 11 to June 23, 2025, and were run by Peter Tegede, who even set up a new line while on bail.

Police raid captures dramatic arrests

Footage released by Warwickshire Police shows the moment officers arrested each offender during the crackdown. Mass messages were sent from the phones to sell drugs across the region. When police arrived at a property, Tegede received a text from the Harry line reading: 'GET OUT WINDOW'.

On June 23, officers followed leads to the house of Louis Steane in Leamington Spa, where Tegede's car was parked. Upon entry, Tegede dropped two mobile phones and a large quantity of money. Steane was found with £6,730 worth of cocaine, crack, and heroin, along with a phone operating the Harry line.

Arrests and charges

Later that day, police arrested Jason Rodgers, a known runner for the line. A pawn shop receipt led to a phone matching one used for the Harry line. Steane, Tegede, and Rodgers were charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs. Tegede was released on bail with an electronic tag.

Despite this, Tegede immediately re-established his drugs line, now called the Rico line, using Ross Myles to supply drugs and operate the line at night while Tegede was under curfew.

Second arrest and sentencing

On August 13, officers spotted Tegede walking from Sydenham with a rucksack. He attempted to run but was arrested. A search found a phone with the Rico line and £10,700 worth of crack, heroin, and cocaine.

Investigating officer DC Harvey said: 'Heroin, crack, and cocaine are a blight on our communities, and leave blood trails the world over through their production and importation. These men were profiting from this misery, and the sheer gall of Tegede in immediately setting up another line while already facing charges shows tremendous disrespect to the community and the law. We hope that Tegede will not be foolish enough to attempt a third line when he is released.'

Peter Tegede, 23, of Theatre Street in Warwick, was jailed for six years and seven months for possession with intent to supply and being concerned with the supply of heroin, cocaine, and crack cocaine, as well as being in possession of £1,365 in cash proceeds of crime. Jason Rodgers, 37, of Spencer Street in Leamington Spa, was jailed for four years and seven months for being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack. Louis Steane, 30, of Rugby Road in Leamington Spa, was jailed for six years for possession with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine. Ross Myles, 50, of Clare Close in Leamington Spa, was jailed for three years for being concerned in the supply of crack and heroin.
