Staffordshire Police have launched a public appeal to trace the family of a pensioner who was found dead at his home in Tamworth.
Discovery at Coleridge Close
Roy Allen, aged 77, was discovered at his property on Coleridge Close in the Leyfields area of the town. The discovery was made on Wednesday, 3 December. Authorities have stated that his death is not being treated as suspicious, and they do not believe any criminal activity was involved.
Coroner's Appeal for Next of Kin
Despite the passage of almost three weeks, officers have been unable to locate Mr Allen's next of kin. As a result, both Staffordshire Police and HM Coroner's Office for Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire have issued a joint public appeal for his family or friends to make contact.
The appeal was issued in the days leading up to Christmas, highlighting the urgency of the situation for the coroner's proceedings.
How to Come Forward
A police spokesperson confirmed the details of the appeal, urging anyone with information to get in touch. "HM Coroner for Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire would like to trace his next of kin," the spokesperson said.
Anyone who knew Roy Allen, or is a member of his family, is asked to contact the Stoke-on-Trent Coroner’s Office directly via email at staffordshireandstokecoroners@stoke.gov.uk.
