Rugby Rotarians and Ashlawn School Unite for Innovative Family Support Initiative
The Rotary Club of Rugby has teamed up with Ashlawn School to launch a groundbreaking community project aimed at assisting local families grappling with the rising cost of living. This collaborative effort, known as the 4 For Four project, is specifically designed to provide sustenance for a family of four across five evenings, offering both practical aid and educational resources.
Student Involvement and Creative Contributions
Pupils from Ashlawn School have played a pivotal role in every phase of the initiative, demonstrating remarkable engagement and creativity. Their responsibilities have encompassed sourcing high-quality ingredients, meticulously packing the food bags, and designing an informative recipe booklet. Additionally, students produced a detailed visual guide that outlines step-by-step cooking instructions, ensuring clarity and ease of use for recipients.
Each food parcel includes a bespoke recipe booklet that features a unique QR code. When scanned, this code directs users to a comprehensive video tutorial showcasing the meal preparation process. This innovative approach guarantees that the cooking experience is not only accessible but also enjoyable, empowering families to prepare nutritious meals with confidence.
Leadership Insights and Community Impact
Club President Tricia Davis expressed profound admiration for the students' dedication, stating, "It was heart-warming to witness the enthusiasm with which the students embraced this challenge. Last week, the meticulously prepared parcels were collected and delivered to four local schools by members of the Rotary Club of Rugby. The participating institutions include Henry Hinde Infant School, Rugby Free School, and St Oswald's CofE Academy, where the parcels will be distributed to families in need within the community.

Earlier this month, Rotarians presented a special certificate to Year 7 students Hannah Kirubakaran and Hanan Samuale, who designed the winning logo for the 4 For Four project. Their artistic contribution has become a symbol of the initiative's values and goals.
