Wolverhampton Football Fan Celebrates £12,000 Pools Win with Family and Maldives Plans
A dedicated Wolverhampton Wanderers supporter has secured a remarkable £12,000 prize after accurately forecasting the outcomes of seven football matches through The Pools. Alison, a 57-year-old resident of Fallings Park, is now organizing a lavish family celebration and a dream holiday to the Maldives to mark her 25th wedding anniversary next year.
How the Winning Predictions Unfolded
Alison achieved this impressive feat by correctly identifying seven score draws across various English and Scottish fixtures in Classic Pools last month. Her selections included a 1-1 draw for Walsall at Colchester, alongside matches such as Dumbarton 2-2 Forfar, East Fife 2-2 Stenhousemuir, Farnborough 2-2 Hornchurch, Spartans 1-1 East Kilbride, St Johnstone 1-1 Queen’s Park, and Telford 2-2 Bedford.
"I was working from home when I found out—it took a moment to sink in," Alison recalled. "The next day, I went to the shops and bought some bottles of wine and gin and some cakes for my work colleagues at Chubb Locks."
Family Celebrations and Future Dreams
To share her joy, Alison hosted a family meal for approximately 20 relatives last weekend, treating everyone to a three-course dinner with drinks. "I’ve got seven nieces and nephews, so it was nice to have all the family together. They were all over the moon," she said.
Looking ahead, Alison and her husband, Tim, are planning a special trip to the Maldives to commemorate their upcoming 25th wedding anniversary. "It’s my 25th wedding anniversary next year, so we’re looking at a trip to the Maldives now to celebrate!" she exclaimed.
A Personal Connection to The Pools
Although Alison only began participating in The Pools within the last four to five years, her family has a long-standing association with the British betting company. "I’ve always had a soft spot for The Pools because they are based in Liverpool, and my mum was from Liverpool, it feels very close to home. My mum was a proper scouser," she explained.
Her father, Arthur, also played a role by collecting Pools coupons from neighbors for many years. "He loved his job, meeting people and being out and about, so The Pools has meant a lot to my family over the years," Alison added.
Recognition from The Pools
Joseph Carter-Bell, The Pools Director of Customer Success and Operations, praised Alison’s achievement. "Alison’s story is exactly what The Pools is all about. Her association spans generations, from her dad collecting coupons down the street to her mum calling Liverpool home, just like us," he said.
"Picking seven correct score draws with Classic Pools is an impressive result and we tip our hat to Alison and hope she enjoys her amazing trip to the Maldives with her £12,000 winnings," Carter-Bell concluded.
Despite her win, Alison intends to continue playing The Pools, maintaining her connection to a brand that holds sentimental value for her family.
