The brother of BBC presenter Caroline Flack has died at the age of 55 after being found 'unresponsive,' according to reports. Paul Flack passed away in hospital six years after his sister, who took her own life in 2020.

Inquest opened into Paul Flack's death

Norfolk Coroner’s Court confirmed that an inquest into his death was opened on Monday, June 29. According to court documents, he died in Norwich on June 21. A full inquest is scheduled for October 23. The inquest opening heard that further enquiries are needed before officials can confirm the circumstances of his death.

Family and legacy

Mr Flack is survived by his wife and two children, as reported by MEN. Following his sister Caroline's death in 2020, he posted a final image on his Instagram account — a childhood photograph of her. Caroline Flack's death sparked a national conversation about mental health, social media abuse, and the treatment of public figures.

Caroline Flack was one of British television’s most recognisable faces, having presented Love Island, The X Factor, and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, and winning Strictly Come Dancing in 2014. On December 13, 2019, police were called to her north London flat after an incident with her boyfriend, tennis player Lewis Burton. Less than a month later, she left her role on Love Island. Her body was found on February 15, 2020.

The Flack family described the devastation of losing the 40-year-old and the circumstances surrounding her final months. Mr Flack joined his mother and sister in the 2021 documentary Caroline Flack: Her Life and Death, which explored her life and the events leading to her death.
